About me

About me

Hmmm, where to begin? As you can tell, I'm known on the net as Arldetta. It was a name I created for an original story I have been working on for a long, LONG time. And when I had to use something original because my first screen name seemed to be popular, I decided to use Ari's and have been Ari ever since.

Anyway, I'm 28 years old, married with a beautiful little girl. My husband and I have known each other since high school and been together for ten years. We were married in Oct 2000 which was probably one of the best experiences of my life. You can read more about it on the Wedding page. ;)

Like I said, virtually everyone knows me on the net as Arldetta, whom I have been for the past two-three years. I originally used the name for a character on the Sega Saturn game PSO, but since then it has made it has become my online persona. Mostly, I am found on the Star Wars Fanfic boards/sites. Which leads me to my musings. About two and a half years ago I found my way into the world of fanfiction and never looked back. At first I only read, but then a story popped into mind and I wrote it down. Over the course of two plus years, I have written 22 stories for a few different fandoms. My primary subject of choice has been Obi-Wan from Star Wars. My epic Forsaken and Begotten, has virtually spanned my entire fanfic career. It began in Oct 2002 and was finally completed in Aug 2004. It's 208 pages on Word and has been my baby for so long, it's odd that it's finally complete. Of course, it's the first in a trilogy but hey, one down two to go, right? ;) Keep an eye out for it.

Ironically, I was never a very good english student, so the fact that I write so much now is rather funny. And to be honest, I originally wanted to go to school for Musical Theatre, but got sidetracked when I met my husband. Along with the encouragement of one of my teachers, I took up Studio Art instead. Unfortunately, I haven't done much and have lost what little talent I had. Now I simply enjoy singing with my daughter and skecthing every now and then.

I'm probably what one might call a 'Jack of all trades' because I love trying and doing so many different things. My interests are vast and I am often determined to try and learn them to a degree. It's just my attention span sometimes lacks in my conviction. :8} When I was in school, I tried Sculpture, Pottery, Drawing, Graphic Design and Video Production. I still would like to learn Photography, Painting, and Web design. Yes, I know, I do have a site and all but I still believe it could be better. Anyway, last year, I finally started on some other interests, Costuming, Embroidering, Knitting and Crocheting. Did small things here and there, and made my first offical costume this summer. You can check it out on the Art page.

I also have a passion for knowledge, well kinda. I like to learn about my interests. One of which is languages. In school I studied German, although over time and disuse much of it is lost. I would like to relearn it if I could. But that will have to wait. Instead I am currently focused on learning Japanese. It is something that I've wanted to do for a Long time, but never got a round to it. Well, with the introduction of Anime, I found a reason to really learn. Currently, I'm learning to read it, which is probably going better than the auditory aspect. I can read most of it but translating is a different story, but I hope to be able to do rough translations by May of next year, that way I can go to E3 and watch the previews for the latest games and understand it without English translations! (^_^) That's the goal anyway.

My husband's an avid gamer and I'm a hobby gamer. We have practically every system and you can often find us in front of one screen or another. Either way a good game with a good story is always a good time.

Hmmm, by the looks of it, I've probably talked your ears off enough, so I'll let you go. I hope you like my site and I'll see you around the net! TTFN!!

Ari :D
